John Sparrow live on the glass block center stage Sundays starting March 7th.

 John Sparrow has followed a lifelong passion for creating original music. He has composed over 1000 songs some of which have been sung or recorded by artists such as Dan Roberts, Charlie Rich, Allen Ross, Bill & Bonnie Hearn, Kat Eggelston, Hank Cramer, Cowboy Steve Cormier, Shanghied on the Willamette, Victory Sings at Sea and many others. Bruce Maier, publisher of Our Indie Web Magazine, said of John,  ” don’t know where you’ve been hiding but man, you have a great way of telling a tale and singing a ballad. I am very impressed. The American troubadour is alive in your heart and it comes through in your songs. Great music, well written! 2 Thumbs up!

For the past few years, John has been a featured performer aboard the vintage steam train excursions of the Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad. He has performed at festivals and concert venues nationwide such as the Philadelphia Folk Festival, the Telluride Folk Festival, The Tumbleweed Festival, Portland’s Winterfolk festival. Live at Arcosanti, The Lark at the Mountain and the Foolkiller Theater as well as all four of the Music at the Mountain Festivals & Blues & Brews festivals in the Mineral Lake Event Center. He has recorded eight CDs of original and Americana music and composed scores for six separate films including a history of south Pierce County entitled ‘Little Cruiser Town”. In concert he connects with audiences with a warm voice and story telling style and skilled guitar work.

The Randy Oxford Band won 6 2005 "BB" awards (The Best of the Blues Awards) in the following categories: "All the Buzz" CD won Best Blues Recording/CD. Inland Empire Blues Association also presented the Empire Award for Best NW Recording for "All the Buzz" **This is the first time, ever, that a Band's CD has won both the BB and the Empire Award for best NW recording in the same year !!**. Randy Oxford won: Best Blues Horn Player, Keeping the Blues Alive, Lifetime Achievement, and Performer of the Year. Also a winner for 2005 BB Award - CD Cover and T-shirt Design, "All the Buzz,"
